Vajrayana is sometimes described as a swift and powerful path of transformation, but what does that actually mean in lived experience?

This weekend retreat offers an embodied introduction to Vajrayana practice as a way of cultivating intimacy with mind through form, mantra, imagination, energy, and meditative awareness. Rather than treating awakening as a distant ideal, Vajrayana invites us to engage body, speech, and mind as the very ground through which awakened qualities can be recognized, explored, and gradually embodied.

The emphasis will be experiential rather than purely philosophical. Through teaching, dialogue, meditative inquiry, and guided practice, we will bring curiosity to the complexity of yidam practice using examples from beloved sadhanas such as Chenrezig and Tara.

An accessible orientation to Vajrayana view and practice, this retreat will not replace formal empowerment, reading transmission, or personal instruction for specific deity practices. It offers a supportive foundation for understanding why Vajrayana works so richly with form, symbol, mantra, devotion, and the body as part of the path of awakening.

Participants will be invited to explore questions such as:

How can the body become a doorway to awakening rather than an obstacle to spiritual practice?

  • What is the role of imagination in Vajrayana, and how is it different from fantasy?

  • How does yidam practice cultivate intimacy with mind?

  • How can sacred form help us recognize awakened qualities already present within experience?

  • What does it mean to embody the path in daily life?

This weekend is suitable for those new to Vajrayana as well as practitioners who wish to deepen their understanding of the embodied and experiential dimensions of the path.
